Interesting idea.
I have also heard it said that the govt takeover of health care will create an entitlement generation, and cause libs to dominate politically for decades to come, because future voters will fear loss of their govt health care.
But, hey, anything is possible.
Thanks for the kind comment on my blog. I forwarded comments to Marji's sister. I have to think your comment was a comfort to the family. - September 20, 2009 at 12:44 AM

Thanks, I heard that ( my comment on your blog) a few years ago. And when my Grand Mother/Grand Father passed, I told my Mother that. She said, that is what I told them; I release you.
Mothers are funny that way.
As far as the post, The Dems, looking for a way to stay in power, is a given. Once the people, especially the poor, have this, there will be trouble trying to resend the Bill.
If the UN takes it from us (Health Care) and unionizes all who work in the system, will be the door they need for the World Tax. - September 20, 2009 at 4:19 AM

I think this is all about control. They though this new health care system will be able to control every aspect of our lives.

Trestin-this is only a part of control they have in mind. A big part, your are right to say so.

It serves always to distract the public councils and feeble the public administration. It agitates the community with ill founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection. It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption, which find a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party passions.
It is important, likewise, that the habits of thinking in a free country should inspire caution in those entrusted with its administration to confine themselves with in their respective constitutional spheres, avoiding in the exercise of the powers of one department to encroach upon another. The spirit of encroachment tends to consolidate the powers of all departments in one and thus to create, whatever the form of government, a real despotism.
If in the opinion of the people the distribution or modification of the constitutional powers be in any particular wrong, let it be corrected by an amendment in the way which the Constitution designates. But let there be no change by usurpation; for though this, in one instance, may be the instrument of good, it is the customary weapon by which free governments are destroyed."
